I’m usually kind of picky about making everything from scratch. Or at least assembling things from super high quality ingredients. But sometimes all that goes out the window for the sake of convenience. I made these for my 5 yo daughter’s Halloween party last Saturday. I used clear plastic cups to show the layers, and to save breakage should any become the victim of slippery little hands. Photo credit goes to the Andy Betz family. Please don’t judge the photo quality against my own. Suffice it to say that I need to invite them over to shoot my food more often.
- 1 large package instant chocolate pudding + milk to make it
- 1 container Cool whip + orange food coloring if you want fall color
- 1/2 a package Newman’s Own chocolate Alphabet cookies
- 1 package gummi worms
Make the pudding. Color the Cool Whip. Smash the cookies into crumbs (I put mine in a bag and hit them with a rolling pin – a satisfying activity). Layer these into 10 clear plastic cups in this order: pudding, cookies, cool whip, pudding, cookies. Add a worm on top to serve.
